(Pondering "Destiny" by J W Waterhouse 1900)

Christ -- faith's Morning Star
steadfast compass ... Grace ajar
wild breeze intrudes

Canvas dreams unfurl
hope meanders, twists and whirls
crest each glistening swell

Tugs at each line cast
Mercy -- deep and ever vast
love lapping beneath

A rocking embrace
yet, hoist anchor -- leave no trace
barnacles encrust

Sloops are made to said
risks are great -- sirens do wail
shipwreck and plunder

Still -- do not borrow
Misguided sailor's sorrow
White Shores do await

Spray and mist, sublime
whisper winds and beckon time
I set sail, my love

My dear friend Tara was kind enough to share some of her poetry with others. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. You may want to look at the Waterhouse painting that inspired the poem. I'm left with much hope that white shores await us all who submit to the calling on our lives.

Please post your thoughts and share.
